What is Trademark Renewal?

A Trademark Renewal can refer to two separate documents:

• The first one is officially called a Declaration of Continued Use, which can be filed only once, after the trademark has been registered for five years. This is often referred to as a five-year renewal.
• The second one is simply called a Trademark Renewal, which must be filed between nine and ten years after a trademark registers, and every ten years thereafter.

What are the Requirements for a Trademark Renewal?

• A $100 per class (The fee is charged by the government (USPTO) to process a 10-year trademark renewal).
• A $125 per class (To process a statement of continued use after the 6th-year).
• Trademark renewal transfer workflow (you can find this on www.legaltrademarkpros.com) -During the workflow, you will have to submit proof (called a "specimen") to show that you're using your trademark to sell the products and/or services listed on your registration. If your mark is registered for products, acceptable specimens will include photos of product packaging, clothing tags or product labels that prominently display your trademark. If your mark is registered for services, acceptable specimens will include brochures, advertisements or websites that prominently display your trademark associated with the services you're selling.
